-- A beauty bag must have for every girl? Highlighter -- whether accentuating a pout or aiming for sky high cheek-bones, this not so well kept beauty secret is a miracle worker! For the luminous, dewy complexion of these Louis Vuitton beauties, a liquid version is perfect -- here are a few favourites:

♥  ♥  ♥
1. YSL's Touche Éclat -- it's promise: 'Capture eight hours of sleep with the click of a pen'

2. Benefit's High Beam -- perfect for all complexions & all skin tones

3. Chanel's ÉCLAT-LUMIÈRE -- a concealer, brightener & highlighter all in one

4. MAC Strobe Cream -- Brightens and clarifies with iridescent particles and antioxidants

5. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector -- creates instant radiance and vitality and reduces imperfections

-- Cleverly reflecting light out, when placed under your eyes dark circles will disappear
-- Applied to the bridge of your nose, more light will be brought to the center of your face
-- Your cheeks will subtly catch the light as you move, creating wonderfully high cheek bones
-- For a perfectly plump pout, apply a small amount to your cupids bow -- instantly fuller lips

-- This weekend, I am in the girliest of moods -- wearing blush florals & a ponytail, I cannot stop thinking about bows & ribbons & pretty peplums & little french phrases. . . I feel like sitting at my dresser & playing with perfectly pretty lipsticks & painting my nails & flicking through the glossy pages of the new Harper's Bazaar. . .

I hope you Saturday is as pretty as mine! xx

After rising quite early every day this week, I've come to appreciate how fresh the morning air is at this beautiful time of year. . . Cool & crisp --  the sunlight is golden as the sun comes up & sets the tone for the day ahead. . . Yes, it is quite lovely. . .  But, truth be told, I'm looking forward to nothing more than a sleep in tomorrow -- because the weekend is finally here!

Have an absolutely darling weekend,

Joey xx

Clashing prints & colours is so much fun!

For the longest time I've lived in a palette of neutralness -- with pale skin & fair hair I found comfort in pinks & nudes & beiges. . . But seemingly from thin air I've developed an absolute LOVE for bright colours & prints & wearing one or two or more in the same outfit! Embellished necklines, jacquard & jewel hues are always balanced with a comfortable, neutral mediator -- but there really are no other rules!

Floral Dreams

After a weekend spent mostly outside & a house filled with sweet scented pink roses -- it's understandable that I am experiencing a slight obsession with all things floral at the moment. . . No, it's not spring here -- but with the days growing shorter & becoming remarkably cooler, I find myself craving flowers & anything that reminds me of the outdoors. . . And so, to keep my dream alive, I may have to invest in a few more perfectly floral dresses. . . & pants. . . & blazers. . .

Have a lovely week,

Joey xx

After the most wonderful week & weekend with visitors & birthday dinners & much coffee & beautiful long walks along the river, as well as still feeling the after-effects of an Easter long weekend (& an almost chocolate overdose!) -- I seem to be finding it hard to do anything but be outside with the absolutely beautiful  weather at the moment. . .
So, I'm sorry the blogging has been a little scarce lately -- I will try my very best to find a happy medium between the outdoors & my computer & will be back soon with some absolutely charming posts!

I definitely hope your weekend has been as lovely as mine,

Joey    xx

I'm finding it a little hard to 'get back to reality' after a perfect Easter long weekend. . .  With a romantic trip up the coast to a little seaside holiday town, brunches & cocktail evenings, days spent in the garden & beautiful dinners with family (& a constant state of chocolate-bliss) -- the weekend just whirled by like a dream & before I knew what was happening it was Tuesday again! But a long weekend was precisely what was needed & now there are a few little plans starting to take shape & soon there will be some changes around the blog. . . So stay tuned!

I hope your Easter weekend was perfectly lovely --

Joey xx

Dear April,

Some things I adore about you:

1. The light -- golden & glowing & perfectly magical. The sun coming up later & setting a little earlier & giving everything it touches an enchanting dreamlike quality. . .

2. Easter -- decorating eggs, Easter Sunday brunches, hunting through gardens & giving little chocolate gifts to our very favourite people.

3. Wearing orange & gold & tan -- are there any colours more autumnal?

4. The landscape changing -- the leaves changing colour & beginning to fall & the paddocks near my house becoming a perfect 'faun' colour

5. Wearing shorts & sandals -- for as long as possible before the cold rules that out completely. . .

Where would we be without serving trays? -- used day after day for delivering cocktails to guests at evening soirees & Sunday morning breakfasts in bed & carrying pots of tea & cups & biscuits for an afternoon tea -- but they need not be boring or plain, especially with a darling DIY such as this one, found at Lovely Indeed . . .

This DIY began with a wooden wine box with the ends shaped into handles -- but with so many plain & affordable trays available, would be much simpler to start with that. . .

1.  Cover the base with white contact & trim the edges with a craft knife

2. Use gold metallic tape  (this one was suggested in the DIY) & begin applying to the board at random angles, but always with equal space between each strip.

3. Again, trim edges as needed with a craft knife & the tray is complete!

The task is so simple & the result is positively stunning! -- A beyond perfect project for the Easter long weekend. . .
